Santa Fe De La Laguna, Michoacan, Mexico

We made a pit stop here, as the sweet town of Santa Fe De La Laguna, on Lago de Patzcuaro is known for it’s rebosos (shalls worn by woman to keep the sun off of their head and shoulders, or to carry a baby). I didn’t end up finding the reboso of my dreams, but I did experience how beautiful small towns are for their own personal trades. We were invited into a home of a man making pottery, and women were in the center of the town scaling fish. All of this activity surrounded an amazing church, where each month, a different family from the town tends to the church and dogs. I think you’ll start seeing this laced through all of my posts from Mexico, but community is really what they depend upon and RESPECT here, and I love that!
